Featured Presentation

How to tell if your database can move to the Public Cloud?

Speaker: Ryan Lence

Summary: Have you been asked to move your database workload to the Public Cloud? How do you know if you will get the performance that you need to be successful. How do you figure out how much it will cost, and will you save money overall by moving your application off-site? In this presentation we will work to provide answers to the following questions. • How to test and compare CPU performance? • How to test and compare Memory performance? • How to test and compare Disk Performance? • How many transactions per second can this solution withstand? • What are your SQL Server licensing options for the Public Cloud?

About Ryan: Ryan Lence has been working with Enterprise Infrastructure for the last 17 years. During this time he has mastered several different technologies and positions including Desktop Engineer, Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, SAN Administrator, Management and Monitoring Consultant, and Database Administrator. Call for Speakers

Peter Palka is trying to put together a 6 month calendar of speakers and topics. Peter would like to start having two presentations per meeting. One topic could be a short 15 minute presentation and then the other could be a 60-90 minute topic.

If you have done something you think is noteworthy that others could benefit from, Peter would like to hear from you. He is willing to help you turn any ideas you have into a presentation. OASSUG is a user group, provided and supported by local area SQL Server users.

Remember you don’t have to do a full-blown 90 minute presentation; even just a short presentation would be a great way to support our local SQL Server user group.
