Deploy SQL Server on Kubernetes containers

Speaker: Michael Ray, Senior Premier Field Engineer Microsoft

Summary: Deploy SQL Server 2017 on Kubernetes for mission critical applications. Kubernetes is a docker container orchestration solution. This solution provides resiliency against SQL Server instance or cluster node failure. During the presentation I will introduce Kubernetes, SQL Server containers, and demonstrate a deployment on Azure Kubernetes Service.

About Michael: Michael Ray helps customers bridge the gap from having data to having knowledge. His work has included supporting Microsoft’s largest single customer implementing business intelligence solutions around the world. Lately his focus has been on helping customers comply with government regulations around security, auditing, archiving, and disaster recovery. He has been a consultant to customers in Europe, the Middle East and throughout North America. His goal is to get more involved in the community

Call for Speakers

Peter Palka is trying to put together a 6 month calendar of speakers and topics. Peter would like to start having two presentations per meeting. One topic could be a short 15 minute presentation and then the other could be a 60-90 minute topic. 

 If you have done something you think is noteworthy that others could benefit from, Peter would like to hear from you. He is willing to help you turn any ideas you have into a presentation. OASSUG is a user group, provided and supported by local area SQL Server users.

  Remember you don’t have to do a full-blown 90 minute presentation; even just a short presentation would be a great way to support our local SQL Server user group.
